Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any riding experience to book a lesson?

Not at all. Linda teaches complete beginners every week and particularly welcomes nervous first-timers. Just let her know your experience level when you book.

What should I wear for my first lesson?

Long trousers (leggings/jogging bottoms or jodhpurs) and flat-soled boots with a small heel. Avoid shorts or loose clothing. Helmets and body protectors are provided — no need to buy your own for your first visit.

What happens if it rains?

Littlefield Manor has an outdoor arena, so make sure to bring waterproofs if it rains. In genuinely severe weather Linda will contact you to rearrange.

I'm nervous around horses — is that a problem?

Absolutely not — nervous riders are Linda's speciality. She'll spend as much time as you need getting comfortable on the ground with the horses before any riding begins. There's never any pressure.

What's your cancellation policy?

Please give at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange a lesson or booking, so the slot can be offered to someone else.
